Tavern History

This Tavern used to be called ‘‘Ravenlocke Tavern & Inn’’. It used to be run by former landowners who kindly built this place to offer a resting point for travellers. For unknown reasons, they abandoned the tavern and inn. Eventually, a wolf happened upon it and used it as his den. EbonWolfe was his name. When Mr. Bluestone came around, the old wolf eventually gave this tavern to him and left. Mr. Bluestone cleaned up the tavern so that it could be used once again. Mr. Bluestone's job was to keep the inn cleaned and ready for future travellers while Cephilia, his daughter, tended to the tavern.

Bringing Earth traditions with him, Gem and Cephilia hosted a Christmas Party in 1999. It was a big smash with lots of presents and friends.

One night, Mr. Bluestone and Cephilia heard the wailing of an injured woman. When they arrived to the scene, they saw a pregnant woman who was seriously beaten and near the brink of death. With the kindness in their hearts, they took this woman in and nursed her back to health and helped her deliver her baby. They soon learned her name was Maddy Sheffield and her son was later named Sakoe. Maddy was hired and when they felt that Sakoe was old enough, he too was hired to help.

Sadly, In January of 2001, Cephilia passed away. Her part of the tavern was inherited by her daughter, Laurana Gainan.

When enough money was made, It was decided to build the "Quarter Building". It would be a permanent place for employees to live in so that they can move out of the small cramped rooms that were finally freed for other travelers to rent. It was named the "Quarter Building" because the designer made the building round.

The idea of the Quarter Building offering employees a more roomy, as well as permanent, place to live in, brought on apartments added to The CrossRoads Tavern and Inn for travelers who decided to stay for long periods of time.

Another sadness is September of 2001 when Gem Bluestone passed away, inherited by his son, Davis Bluestone.

Ambrose plays Santa Claus for a joyous holidayDespite the sad year, A Christmas party was hosted in 2001 and this party had a special guest!

Santa Claus!

Davis felt his friend, a man by the name of Ambrose, would fit the part perfectly. Handing a magick-trapped candy to Ambrose to eat even though Ambrose was very highly suspicious of the candy, He found himself happily transformed into Santa with a white thick beard and the jolly red clothes that went with it. To complete the ensemble, he was given a bag of endless presents that would only work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He handed out presents to little kids as well as humoring some adults. He was whisked away by great news that his wife went into labor. We're happy to say that he had a son born on Christmas Day.

Sakoe Sheffield disappeared and no one has seen him since.

A third sadness is the passing of Maddy Sheffield in November of 2002.

Currently we are not hiring.

If you are in need of a job, please check at Four Winds Crossing. It is a small town down the road from the tavern. Davis Bluestone owns all unsought land. Other properties belongs to the party that bought them.
